Energy and emissions
Heat and power from biomass
The plant is supported by a biomass-based co-generation system, a combined heat and power plant (CHPP), with a near-zero carbon footprint.

Water
Recycled water in place of groundwater
We run the plant on recycled water wherever we can, so that less groundwater has to be abstracted.

Reduce, reuse and recycle
A plant designed to waste very little
Through years of research and constant development of innovative and proprietary processes, we follow the waste hierarchy of “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” in a highly efficient manner. Any adverse effect on the environment is, therefore, practically negligible.
We aim to continuously minimize the consumption of energy, water and raw materials in order to reduce the impact on the environment and all the stakeholders.

Materials recovered
The materials recovered are either sold as by-products or recycled.
